How does spray dryer work

  • TOPTION spray dryer is a type of continuous atmospheric dryer. The liquid material is sprayed into mist with special equipment to make it contact with hot air and be dried in only a few seconds. The spray drying equipment is widely used to dry some heat sensitive liquids, suspensions and viscous liquids, such as milk, eggs, tannins and medicines. It is also used for drying fuels, intermediates, soap powder and inorganic salts, etc.

    1. After filtering and heating, the air enters the air distributor on the top of the dryer, and the hot air enters the drying chamber evenly in a spiral shape.
    2. The material liquid passes through the high-speed centrifugal atomizer at the top of the tower, and (rotating) sprays into very fine misty liquid beads, which can be dried into finished products in a very short time in co-current contact with hot air.
    3. The finished product is continuously output from the bottom of the drying chamber and the cyclone separator, and the waste gas is evacuated by the induced draft fan.

    By spray drying system, in the hot air flow, 95%-98% of the water in liquid material can be evaporated instantly, and the drying time is only a few seconds. The dried powder product also has a uniform particle size, more than 95% of the dry powder is in the same particle size.
